Following the ongoing nationwide protests in the country for about two weeks, Nigerians in Ibadan, Oyo State from the Southwest Region came up with the slang during their protest.
The protest which held on Tuesday, 13th of October, 2020 birthed #SoroSokeWerey.
The slang sounds funny in pronunciation but quite abusive according to some analyses.
Adeoliseh Blog obtained that the issue of Nigerian SARs shooting guns recklessly and killing thousands of innocent people led millions of Nigerians, particularly the youths to start the protest across the nation.
Recently after the government had received more than enough thousands of messages and demand requests, SARS was changed to SWAT, in which still, the Nigerian youths are not pleased with it but to END the offices finally.
Over the two weeks on social media, trillions of tweets, trends, reactions and comments have emerged on the platforms with hashtags like #EndSARSNow, #EndPoliceBrutality, #EndBadGovernanceNow, #BuhariHasBeenABadBoy #SoroSokeWerey #LegaliseGun and among others.
According to happenings across the country, the protest is far from ending as thousands of people protest from one location to another with new concepts arise on daily basis.
Soro Soke, what’s your take on this? Do you think the government failed or the Nigerian youths are to be address?
